Star Wars: Nameless Terror

This is the end. This is the beginning. This is your mission. This is all you have. They took everything else. [[The Path]]

You think back to that fateful, horrible night. The memory is so visceral, so vivid that it's almost as if you never really left the caves. Maybe you never did. Maybe some part of you will always be stuck in there. Taunted and tortured by those creatures. The Nameless terrors that ripped your soul apart and left behind only the shadow. The Nameless who showed you who you really were beyond the veil of who you thought you had been. Yes. This is the true Path. This is all there is. You have endured great trauma and great terror. And you will face more of both in abundance until you succeed. But it is all worth it. To avenge the ones who crumpled to dust while you still stand, broken but alive. To save more in the future who cannot comprehend the horrors that wait for them. This is a dark and lonely path. One you must tread alone. No one else could understand. No one else has survived what you have. A pang of regret passes through you. Not for what you have done or what you must do. But for who you were before...this. Before the caves. Before you ever knew of any Paths. Before the Nameless. If you were still able you might shed a tear at the thought. [[ Remember the Fields]] [[Move On]]

You were a hero once. A valiant Knight sworn to protect and defend. Traveling the galaxy with your trusty droid (what was his name? You can't remember anymore. Now you are just as nameless as your hated enemy. Now though, you think back to a catalyst in your life though you had not understood its significance at the time. You were standing in a field. The day had been a victory. You and two of your fellow Knights had saved a settlement from destruction. And then the younger of the two other Knights said something that would go on to haunt your dreams. Asked by an eager boy who wanted you to come with them on the next mission. You refused. And your choice shaped the future. Yours. The boy's. The apprentice's master. Everyones. Potentially that of the whole galaxy. If you could go back would you have been able to [[Change Things]] Or has the [[Path always been set?]]

The boy and his master had been the first. You found them after the Nameless ripped out everything they were and left only husks behind. Could you have identified the threat earlier? Would your fellow Knights still be alive? Could the threat of the Nameless have been quashed before it ever arose? How you could have spared everyone such pain and suffering. None of it matters. You are only feeding yourself delusions of premature salvation. They had to die to show the way. To set you on your path. Everything happened the way it must for you to carry the fight. It is time to [[Move On]]

Yes. This is the way. The only way. There is no use agonizing in what could have been. Everything has happened as it must. Your path is clear. You must [[Move On]]

Like a no longer needed cloak, you discard the past. It chains and binds you. Reminiscing cannot help you. Only action can. You are more than you were. You have embraced the dark and it has returned the favor. You have been given everything you need to survive your crusade.
